The final round of the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers is currently underway. All the games of the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers that started on June 8 are coming to an end today. A total of 24 nations will participate in the AFC Asian Cup to be held in China in 2023. So far, 13 nations have been selected for the AFC Asian Cup. Eleven nations will be selected for next year’s AFC Asian Cup from the ongoing third round of the selection competition.
The third round of the AFC Asian Cup has been selected for a total of 24 countries. These 24 countries are divided into six groups of 4-4 teams. The AFC Asian Cup will include 11 countries, including six group winners and five best runner-up teams.
Every four years, the AFC Asian Cup is held. The first AFC Asian Cup was held in Hong Kong in 1951. The AFC Asian Cup was last played in the United Arab Emirates in 2019. The 2019 AFC Asian Cup was won by Qatar. Japan placed second. Qatar won the 2019 AFC Asian Cup for the first time after defeating Japan 3-1 in the final.
